Spray tanning Love the look of a tan but hate the damaging and aging effects of the sun? A spray tan takes less then 20 minutes and you will go from pale and interesting to bronzed Goddess without exposing your skin to the suns harmful rays. I use Solaris tanning products which have a fantastic colour and no orange streaking. Depending on how dark you want to go I can advise on the strength of solution that should be used. I can also cater for parties so why not gather a group of friends together and make it a fun evening. Provided there are 5 paying guests the hostess will have their tan for free. Is spray tanning safe? DHA has been approved in the beauty industry for the past 30 years. No adverse reactions have been reported other then minor skin irritations on people with sensitive skin. Allergic reactions are uncommon but it is recommended that a patch test take place 24 hours before you have a tan if you feel you have sensitive skin. How long will my sunless tan last? Depending on your daily skincare regime and lifestyle the tan will last anywhere between 7 and 10 days. Your sunless tan will fade just as a tan from the sun does. If having a treatment before a holiday please be aware that Solaris tanning products have no SPF in therefore protection in the sun must be used. Chlorine will bleach your sunless tan and sand is a natural exfoliant and may affect your tan. What do I need to do before my tanning appointment? Exfoliate the night before or at least 8 hours before, paying particular attention to dry areas such as knees and elbows. All shaving and waxing should be done a minimum of 8 hours before. No makeup, moisturiser or deodorants should be applied before your treatment as these will act as a barrier against the solution. What will happen during my treatment? I will ask you to complete a tanning consultation card before hand. You will be asked to remove your clothes and stand in a tanning cubicle, a barrier cream will be applied to the palms of your hands. The application will take approx 15 minutes. I will talk you through each stage and explain how to stand. During treatment a golden colour will develop on your skin. This is the colour guide and will develop over the next few hours into a beautiful natural looking tan. The colour guide will wash off in your first shower, so don’t panic! Do I have to be naked? No it is your choice, if you prefer not to be naked you may wear old black or dark underwear or I can provide a black disposable thong. What should I wear and do after? Loose fitting dark clothes and some flip flops or very open sandals. The colour guide will transfer so please be aware of this. Any colour can usually be removed on a normal wash cycle. Do not bath/shower for at least 8 hours. Do not exercise or swim for at least 8 hours. After showering/bathing pat dry or air dry to prolong your tan. Who should not get spray tanned? Spray tanning is not recommended for: Women in their first trimester of pregnancy. Anyone allergic to self tan. People with breathing difficulties. How much will it cost? It is £20 for a full body or £12 for a half body. If you host a tanning party and have 5 paying guests the host/hostess will receive their tanning treatment free. |
